I bought this edition specifically because it was the "pocket edition" and marketed as convenient for travel, etc. It is NOT pocket-sized in any way- it is huge! I should have paid careful attention to the dimensions listed. In any case, if you want an inexpensive Book of Common Prayer, then this it it. If you're looking for something compact, look elsewhere.
Pages don't match the church BCP, but all the info is there with quality print/binding as well. If you consider this a "pocket" edition though, you better have large pockets. It's 2" thick.
Ok....I haven't checked out the content yet, but the actual BCP is more "pocket sized" than this book. Please stop marketing it as a pocket sized edition.
The price is right for home use (which is how I intended to use it). It is strange and slightly annoying that the page numbers are not correct, but I can use the pew BCP at church and use this affordable paperback at home. I can see how it might be a deterrent for those who wish to use it in a group/public setting, though.
It's amazingly difficult to find an actual travel sized 1979 BCP. I figured I'd hit with this one, and didn't notice the width. It won't fit in either my greatcoat or my labcoat, the two largest pockets I have. My wife is using it as a study copy, so that's not a wash. Good version, but not a pocket one.
getting used to this. page numbers are not the same as what we use in church. All the info plus more is there though.
Does not match the pages in the BCP used in our classes.
The price is fabulous. I have used it for Youth Confirmation classes. But the page numbers do not match the standard BCP, which can be annoying.
