My brother authored an honest record of L&C's surviving journals, those that were not destroyed or hidden away by the Smithsonian and their associates of "Manifest Destiny" fraud. I also understand enough of American political history to understand the intrigue behind M. Lewis' suspect demise. This book provides some valuable details about a few of the native tribes and places not openly discussed in our government-sanitized history books. Bob Webster
I am impressed with this study of the life and times of Meriwether Lewis.I, like many Americans, have confusion as to why a national hero who could have very well become president, would have decided to take his own life. It just never seemed correct.Why have the family of Meriwether Lewis not been allowed to exhume the remains of their family member?History is a work of art. It is a mistake to take it as fact. The Truth will set us free. I would like to see more on this subject.I enjoyed this book immensely. I would recommend it to anyone who has even the slightest interest in the history of the United States.
Everyone should read this book. It uncovers the hidden Truths about so many official LIES. we've all been lied to about damn near everything. This book helps to shine a light on our human inheritance. We should all know these truths. Good pics also.
The book contained some very interesting information about pre-Columbian cultures and the suppression of knowledge pertaining to the evidentiary facts of their existence.The authors also explored, in summary, the circumstances of Lewis's death and gave a cursory account of their famous expedition.What was lacking, in my opinion, was any accounts of the allegedly fantastic discoveries made by the Corps of Discovery other than the Welsh descendant Indians - which, while fascinating, only hints at what may yet remain hidden from us by those who wish to keep the truth in darkness.Overall, though disjointed in format, it was fairly well written and worth reading if one is interested in the subject of ancient North American cultures.
This is new information on this subject that has been told many times.I felt when reading this book that I knew very little about Lewis and Clark, but without any doubt, I did not know or even suspect what is presented in this book.If you think you know the Lewis and Clark story, you owe it to yourself to read this book as it is a mind changer.
Since I'm interested in this sort of topic, I've actually read accounts of parts of this elsewhere; but it's good to get varying perspectives on those historical episodes. And of course more than half of the material was new to me and thus filled in a larger vision. Also, to those for whom all this is relatively new, it's a very readable survey of an entire historic period. That is, the Lewis & Clark Expedition didn't take place in a vacuum; it was a product of the cultural, economic, diplomatic, and political times, all of which are touched upon. Quite comprehensive for a relatively small book.
This was an amusing read. Despite a modest amount of citation there are numerous claims and references made in the book that have no supporting documentation— which is suspicious. I think the bibliography is good and suited for those interested in alternative histories of North America but this book itself seems like it wasn’t even proof read (at the least).PS- despite there being a page heading in the back of the book for “Indexâ€â€” there is *no* index! Glad this wasn’t a submission for thesis or dissertation!If there is going to be any credibility established for the proposed views then scholarship must be improved in these simple areas.
As a lover of history, I was intrigued by the title of this book. Additionally as a member of the Lewis & Clark Trail Heritage Foundation I expected some new and informative data on the Lewis & Clark Expedition. The result, unfortunately, was disappointing. The authors touched on a number of interesting topics relating to ancient finds and discoveries throughout our country. Much of what they related to pointed to the fact that our history may well have gone back thousands of years earlier than what we normally consider as our earliest roots. There is much talk about ignoring of ancient arts, crafts, skeletons, etc. which indicate perhaps some scholars give little credence to some of the more controversial theories on early man. The problem with the book, however, is that it jumped around so much from item to item than none of it really tied together. Also, I really don't know what the significance of Lewis and Clark had to do with much of what they wrote. Nonetheless, the book did bring up some interesting points and the one benefit of it may be that it will urge you to do more research and reading on the history and background of our great country.
