While this book is well-written with lots of interesting Biblical background information to explain the origin of the Jezebel spirit, the author focuses on the spirit working in the church, not within the family or in everyday relationships, like I anticipated. Even though it is engaging and informative and I know more now than I did regarding the Jezebel spirit, in the end, I think the book will prove to be unhelpful unless you are dealing with the spirit specifically within your church setting. If that is what you're looking for, this may be the book for you. But I was looking for something that would give me direction as to how to deal with the spirit once it has worked its way into your family and you're faced with managing relationships with those you love whom it has seduced. Still looking for that book.
The Spirit of Jezebel has been a plague upon the Church time without mind. Many of us have encountered it at least once; perhaps we've even hosted it before. There are countless teaching materials by various ministers on the subject. Everyone wants to know "Who is Jezebel and how do I deal with her?""Is she a he, a she, or an it?""Is she a person or a spirit? or both?""Is she a demon or a principality?""Is she like Delilah?""Is she after my pastor? my husband? me?""Is that co-worker of mine who has it out for me or that woman leading my prayer circle a Jezebel, or are they just ambitious and outspoken?"Jezebel. I have sat through a number of sermons and read a bit about this subject, and I feel like the author's presentation is one of the best I know of. She advises pastors (like me!) NOT to "look behind every doorknob; but she does tell us how to spot it, root it out and guard against it. I appreciate this well-written level-headed book.
I was a little bit disappointed with the book. The book was quite different than what the YouTube video portrayed it to be. I wanted to know more about the control and manipulation aspect and the desire and determination to remain unknown because I went through a divorce because of this spirit.It is most definitely a horrible,evil,wicked spirit that can cause you to lose your sanity unless you get away from it or the jezebel receives deliverance. I have received better information that pertained to my life from other sources. As a Christian I don't believe in divorce but I am much happier now to have this spirit out of my life and jezebel not having the opportunity of attempting to lie, twist words and by any means attempt to manipulate and control.To call this spirit wicked is putting it mildly. I will read this book again in hopes that I can I'm uncover truths as it pertains to what I went through so that I might be able to better help others. It is absolutely the most wicked, versatile and powerful spirit that satan has in his entire arsenal that he uses against humanity. Thank God that He gave me the discernment to recognize jezebel and her wicked ways. Pray that it will be helpful to others as they read this so that they may avoid the traps that are waiting for them.This spirit is rejection based which causes fear and then the necessity to control in order to eliminate fear.Christians and non-christians alike need to be aware of this spirit and its operations.
Jennifer really gives great insights to overcoming the spirit of Jezebel... If will take this amazing instruction we can overcome and walk victorious in life. It's not about focusing on the demonic but through her words about being connected to the One who overcomes all things.
There is "some" good, or interesting information, but otherwise, the book and author are way too enemy focused, & give the enemy too much credit & glory, when the glory should go to God alone. The Bible is very clear that the enemy is a criminal and a liar with no rights, no authority, no power, and is under our feet!
I don't think we realize...most of us...what dark spiritual forces are among us to destroy us. Scripture tells us that "the devil is seeking whom he may devour" and this is one hideous force. Jesus gave us spiritual weapons to combat these dark forces that He defeated on His Cross at Calvary, but it's up to His Church, the Body of Christ, to enforce His victory. Jennifer LeClaire does a great job in this book giving an all around description of this malevolent enemy. I have read many books on this subject, this is a good one to add to one's library.
