The guide is broken up by geographic sections of the state. The narrative by Cindi Pietrzyk is interesting and easy to read, with the longtime resident's insight for details and opinions. The book includes a few maps; unfortunately, no photographs. Highly recommended.
I have bought other books Off The Beaten Path series. This book is light reading. There are many interesting places listed in the book. They are not high traffic and over priced places. I like the places because they are more a personal level. You get the kind of one on one attention. I am going to continue adding the other series either to my kindle or hard copy collection. this is the 3rd book I have bought of the series.

A good book to take along on a trip in CT.
Interesting places to visit. I live in CT and this book points out things that I have missed in the past.
Glad for the new edition, but contains same old errors & questions. What would be really helpful is a fold out detailed companion map in each county.I intend to contact the author, but 99% of this guide is A+ work, and is filled with trivia, history and FUN places to go. Totally worth the cost,and I keep one on hand with me every Friday late afternoon, at our HIGGANUM VILLAGE FARMERS' MARKET, in Haddam on Rt. 154 each season, too.
